I was asked to “turn this into a colour image”. After explaining that it was beyond my skills to do this I offered to produce a tinted version in the style of “hand-painted photos” of the past.
The only colour information available was that the vests were a dark red, the buttons were polished brass and the baton was gold and red.
Your challenge is to produce a tinted copy of this image.
Hint for beginners: Use the paintbrush in colour mode to preserve details.
