Melbourne's only Mac-focused computer market and swap meets are held only once or twice a year - the next is on [date to be determined].

Unlike most computer markets, where you spend most of your time struggling through stall after stall of broken motherboards, pirate software and PC junk, to find a few Mac gems, the AUSOM Computer Market will make it easy to get what you're looking for. Like all user group events, it will also be a great opportunity to network and meet other Mac enthusiasts.

Starting at 10am and going until 4pm, the AUSOM Swap Meets are held at the Balwyn Baptist Church Hall on the corner of Whitehorse and Parring Roads, Balwyn.

General Admission costs $3.00 and this gives you all day access to the Swap Meet.

There will be a series of presentations throughout the day to give shoppers a chance to rest their weary feet, and catering will be available.

Yes, AUSOM members are able to have stalls at the Swap Meets. There are two types:

Members' shared table

The first is The Members Shared Table and is intended for use by AUSOM members with up to and including three items for sale and will be located inside the main Swap Room.

A "complete" system such a CPU, Monitor and Printer with a SINGLE Selling price, will be considered a "single" item. Items with separate selling prices will be treated as individual items.

Items placed on this table must be CLEARLY marked with the seller's name, a contact telephone number (which can be given to the purchaser) and the preferred asking price.

AUSOM takes no responsibility for items left on this table and it is up to the individual seller to look after the items for sale or to arrange with another individual to sell the goods on their behalf.

There is still the nominal $3 Entry Fee to the Swap Meet.

Normal member's stall

AUSOM Members with three or more items for sale will need to take out a 'Normal stall'. If you like to get together with other members to form a larger table, you are welcome to do that.

Stalls for dealers and commercial vendors at the AUSOM Computer Market are normally $40 each, but as a Special Offer any dealer who takes out a minimum of a half page advert in the October issue of AUSOM News will receive their stall free of charge.

To take advantage of this offer, bookings for advertising must be made and final artwork submitted at least 28 days prior to the Market date.

There is a special option for members looking at disposing of saleable goods - they can donate them to AUSOM for re-sale on the AUSOM Table. All proceeds from such sales will go to AUSOM to help offset costs involved in running the AUSOM Swap Meets. AUSOM reserves the right to refuse any donations. Just bring the goods along on the day and leave them with us on the AUSOM Service Desk
