Chris Roberts, NBN Co. — NBN fibre network build and service activation steps.

After a Product Strategy role in Telstra Wholesale, Chris led the Product Engineering team in NBN Co's Technology group, supporting and developing the technical features of the NBN Co products. 'Everything Apple' at Melb. PC — June 11th

— 2:00pm–4:00pm Melbourne PC Users Group

2:00 pm: Word Processing with TextEdit — Presented by Isabel Collins

Once there was the humble typewriter; now there are powerful word processors and desktop publishing. But many of us just want a simple program on our computers that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg; one that’s quick to install and easy to use; one that doesn’t have a huge instruction manual and a steep learning curve. Most of all we want our our information to look good on the page.

Come on down, TextEdit. This simple, yet highly versatile, word processor comes pre-installed on the Mac and is often overlooked. Isabel shows how easy it is to use TextEdit in a variety of ways that produce good looking results.

There will be a 10-minute tea break halfway through and time for questions afterwards.

Meetings: Second Tuesdays, except January. 2:00–4:00pm.
Address: Moorabbin Interest Group Room, Melbourne PC Users Group, 479 Warrigal Road, (near Cr. Cochranes Rd), Moorabbin, Melway 78 D8

Photos and photo apps — Dick Johnson
There are very many apps available to manage and edit photos on the iPad, but here
Dick will look at the two Apple apps designed for these tasks — the free Photos and the modestly priced but very capable iPhoto for iOS. He'll cover importing, editing and deleting photos, as well as the operation of Photo Streams and the construction of Journals in iPhoto for iOS.

Meetings: Third Wednesdays, except January. 2:00–4:00pm.
Address: Special Interest Room, Melbourne PC Users Group, 479 Warrigal Road, (near Cr. Cochranes Rd), Moorabbin, Melway 78 D8

AUSOM Mornington Group — June 20th

— 5:45pm–9:00pm at Mornington CommunityCentre

5:45pm: Sign in for 6:00pm start

6:00 pm: iPad Coach — Chris McQuillen — Creating a Digital Story - Part 1
Chris shows how to use the Camera successfully on the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch; then how to turn the results into a photo story or short movie right on your Apple Device.

7:15 pm: Creating a Digital Story - Part 2
Chris continues tonight's theme. Do you have photos and video clips on your Mac just waiting for you to decide what to do with them? Find out how use them creatively and turn them into a short movie or photo slideshow that you can show on your TV.

8:30 pm: Help Forum for all Macs & Apple Devices
Tonight Chris will answer questions relating to movie-making in general so be ready to ask about camera work, storyboarding, photos, video clips and the use of iMovie and post production on your Mac or iDevice.

Or try the new Freeway Link — at Bungower Road head west to Mornington — then at Nepean Highway turn left — then follow directions above.
